We don't know their real birthday. Does that matter?
No. Gotcha day is the date most adopted pets get celebrated on, and the song is built around the day they arrived, not the day they were born.
They were a rescue with a rough start. Will the song be cheerful anyway?
The mood is yours to set. 'Warm' keeps it gentle; 'cheerful' leans into who they are now. We write the past as you tell it and don't dramatise it.
Can the song be about two pets adopted together?
